Secondfolio is a desktop writing app that combines a simple, distraction-free editor with smart tags — a lightweight expression system that brings spreadsheet-like calculations to your documents.

Getting Started

• Launch the app and start typing in the default scratch pad
• Use Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K) to open the command palette
• Create projects and documents to organize your writing
• Check the built-in Help project for detailed documentation

• Markdown formatting: headers, emphasis, strikethrough, inline code, highlights, blockquotes, bullet lists, task lists, and tables
• Smart tags: embed calculations, counts, dates, and interactive elements directly in your text using {{ }}
• Multiple views: Page, Cards, and Stack modes for different ways of reading and navigating your writing
• AI queries: connect to a local Ollama instance for search, categorization, and analysis across your documents
• Project-wide search with Ctrl+F (or Cmd+F)
• Auto-save and explicit export as external markdown documents
